Our
Sunday Assembly
Our major event each week is the Sunday morning assembly, when we meet
for worship and mutual encouragement. We are committed to honoring God
by worshipping in a way that is acceptable to the Lord. We
try to
closely follow the pattern of worship we find presented to us by Christ
and His Apostles in the first century.
The Lord's Supper:
Each
baptized believer anticipates the privilege of observing the Lord's
Supper each Sunday, in accordance with New Testament example.
The Offering:
Every Sunday, members are invited to contribute financially to support
the activities of the family.
The Preaching:
The sermon is intended to present Bible teaching that will guide and
strengthen members throughout the week.
Singing:
Everyone is invited to sing A Cappella, according to New Testament
example.
Prayers:
Prayers will be led that express the spiritual and physical concerns of
the entire group.
Our Bible Classes
We give great emphasis to knowing what our Father wants us to know and
to living the way He wants us to live. For these reasons, Bible study
plays an important role in family activities. Structured Bible classes
are offered for adults and children. Curriculum is presented in such a
way to encourage those of all ages to reinforce their Bible knowledge
by reading and studying the scriptures regularly at home.
Our adults and teen Bible classes are designed to provide a broad and
balanced coverage of various subjects. Some classes study specific
books of the Bible, while others address practical topics that aid
Christians in everyday life.

Other Congregations in Seymour
Another church of Christ existed in Seymour in the 80s and 90s but was
not directly related to the current Seymour Church of Christ. The
earlier group met in the old Trundle's Crossroads Methodist Episcopal
Church (South) building at 1028 Boyd's Creek Hwy. Larry Perry and Elmer
Scarborough began the congregation in the Seymour community. On January
4, 1981 they agreed to rent the Trundles building for $100 a month and
$5 a month for each new family in attendance. Not long after this that
the building was purchased by the Seymour Church of Christ.
The Seymour Church of Christ met in that building until 1995.when the
congregation disbanded and sold the building.
